TRAINING OF FACILITY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES (FMCS) ON THE OPERATION, MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF SUB-PROJECT SITES UNDER THE GHANA PRODUCTIVE SAFETY NET PROJECT (GPSNP)
The Ghana Productive Safety Net Project (GPSNP) is a flagship Government of Ghana initiative aimed at strengthening household livelihoods, improving community resilience, and providing productive infrastructure to vulnerable populations. The project supports the development of community-level sub-projects such as feeder roads, water facilities, markets, storage facilities, irrigation structures, and other socio-economic infrastructure.
To ensure the sustainability, effective utilization, and longevity of these sub-projects, Facility Management Committees (FMCs) were established within beneficiary communities. These committees are responsible for the day-to-day operation, routine maintenance, oversight, and management of the facilities. However, the effectiveness of FMCs largely depends on their capacity, knowledge, and understanding of facility management principles.
In view of this, a capacity-building training programme was organized for FMC members to enhance their skills in the operation, maintenance, and management of GPSNP sub-project sites.
