Tempane District Celebrates 69th Independence Day


The Tempane District Assembly joined the rest of the country to celebrate Ghana’s 69th Independence Day Anniversary on 6th March 2026 under the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.” The celebration brought together officials of the District Assembly, traditional authorities, security services, teachers, students, and members of the public.
The event featured a colourful march past by selected basic and senior high schools who displayed discipline and patriotism before dignitaries and spectators at the parade grounds.
Addressing the gathering, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Mbilla Joseph Ayaaba, encouraged citizens, particularly the youth, to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, and hard work in contributing to national development. The celebration also served as a moment to reflect on the sacrifices of Ghana’s forefathers whose efforts secured the nation’s independence.
The ceremony ended successfully with renewed commitment from residents of the district to support the growth and development of both the Tempane District and Ghana as a whole.
