Senzitiazation of community members on the introduction of Ghana productive Safety Net Project 2 (GPSNP2) at Akara, kongo, Douskoum, Kpinkpanyoung and Tafakwan.
The Ghana Productive Safety Net Project is a World Bank/ Government of Ghana supported project which is implemented by the Ministry of Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development (MLGDRD) and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP). The project seeks to enhance social safety nets that improves the incomes and the productivity of the poor in Ghana.
The District Planning Officer, Agric Extension Officer, Social Welfare and Community Development Officer and the Gender Desk Officer embarked on a sensitization exercise to educate beneficiary community members to enable them make decisions and choices regarding the GPSNP 2. The team visited the beneficiary communities which included Akara, Douskoum, Kongo, Kpinkpanyoung and Tafakwan from the 3rd-5th April, 2023.
Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Assembly members and Community members were taking through some key issues, the issues discussed during the sensitization exercise included
What Is GPSNP 2 and what it seeks to do.
Wage rate, work duration and task systems.
Work attendance capturing and payment of beneficiaries.
Gender based violence among others. In attendance were Chiefs, opinion leaders, community members among others. The chiefs and Community members expressed their readiness and contributions to make the implementation a success
